Husky Love 03:23
Husky Love My best friends are hairy, they’re sloppy when they drink To some they may look scary, they smell but they never stink They love to run until the day is done and then howl at the rising moon They lie in the sun, live their life for fun They’re bound to sleep right through the afternoon Their sapphire eyes – they glisten, they sparkle like shining stars They hear but they might not listen and they love riding in my car They might step on your toes they might lick your nose They might get into your private space They can sure annoy but they bring such joy when you see the smile on their face A Husky love ain’t no puppy love – it’s the real thing way down deep A Husky love is a cut above – it’s something that you’ll always keep You can have your Cockapoo cuz there’s one thing I do believe Well, it don’t get much better than a Husky love to me They dig up half my garden, chase the rabbits an harass the squirrels But they’ll stand down a monster mastiff and they’re a hit with the neighborhood girls Dog sled teams are in their dreams when they’re running the Iditarod She’s talking again speaking Siberian, you know the princess needs her massage A Husky love ain’t no puppy love – it’s the real thing way down deep A Husky love is a cut above – it’s something that you’ll always keep You can have your Labradors, your Goldens, and your Pekinese Cuz, it don’t get much better than a Husky love to me Well, it don’t get much better than a Husky love to me Words and music by Robert T Schmidt and Karla G Leithoff, 2016

All Mine 03:57
All Mine Just a simple life for a simple kind of guy I don’t watch the news and I don’t wear a tie Drink a bit of beer and play a little ball Make a lot of music and hang with the dogs Take slow mosey down the Ice Age Trail Listen to Princess talking and chase my own tail Chillin’ with my girls on a holiday Never getting rich but I will make this life pay I don’t have nothing and I don’t have much But I’ve got something they can never ever touch Her soul runs deeper and her heart is so fine This simple life is complete because her love is all mine Get a big thrill from what nature brings Firing up the grill and Stranger Things Gazing at the stars from my roof all alone Ely with the wolves or maybe Yellowstone I don’t have nothing and I don’t have much But I’ve got something they can never ever touch Her soul runs deeper and her heart is so fine This simple life is complete because her love is all mine Got a couple friends - they like to hang around We’ll never make the grade but it’s a mighty fine sound Talk a bunch of smack while the cover band plays Feeling bad for Petty rolling over in his grave I don’t have nothing and I don’t have much But I’ve got something they can never ever touch Her soul runs deeper and her heart is so fine This simple life is complete because her love is all mine This simple life is complete because her love is all mine

Black Husky Brewery Sitting at the Black Husky Brewery sipping on a glass of Spruce 2 Smokey’s tending bar and I brought my guitar ‘cuz she wants to hear a Husky Love tune Howler, he’s still watching over he’s got the best seat in town Lother’d rather bite you his Sparkly Eyes will light you up This place is really going to the hounds Jonny’s drinking Fancy Nancy and we’re never gunna let him live it down If you’re looking for Chuck, well you’re out of luck he’s hunting down a Big Buck Brown Karla says I’m Problematic, I just think I’m kinda Vain So I’ll grab an Obstinator, boy, I’ll see you later, the 12 Dog’s hittin the fast lane Count your sled dogs are you coming up with 23? Sure ain’t Pembine but there’s no place that I’d rather be when you’re here with me Willy’s dreaming dirty martinis – Jada say there ain’t no way We’ve no liquor here but I can buy you a beer, how about a spruced up IPA? And Kay is contemplating a Deck Dog, cuz Rinki’s got an ear to lend Everybody needs one lying in the summer sun there’s nothing like man’s best friend Count your sled dogs are you coming up with 23? Sure ain’t Pembine but there’s no place that I’d rather be when you’re here with me The Dogfather’s making an offer and Carolyn, she can’t refuse We all need a Schutzengel to save our tails, we’ve all taken too much abuse Mikey’s busy knocking down the tower Snowdog really put him to the test The 3 Scrutineers are barking out 3 cheers for Tim and Toni – they’re the best Count your sled dogs are you coming up with 23? Sure ain’t Pembine but there’s no place that I’d rather be when you’re here with me When you’re here with me

That’s Just Me I don’t care what the neighbors say I do what I want to do Let the grass grow nice and tall let the dandelions all come shining through Because that’s the way I like it a little wild and free What the hell is with this mono-culture anyways? What we need is more diversity But that’s just me that’s just me I don’t care what the radio plays I sing what I want to sing What’s the sense of me playing their songs to me they don’t mean anything I write the songs in my soul and I’ll sing ‘em until I’m cold And if the sound really brings you down It ain’t the end of this God forsaken world to me But that’s just me that’s just me It ain’t your body and it ain’t your mind it ain’t your spirit – it’s a one of a kind They broke the mold for a damn good reason and I can understand why I don’t care what the talking heads said I think what I want to think Life is short I’ll try to live it well and I’ll drink what I want to drink Save the wolves save the elephants and bees and get down on my knees Thank the Lord for the ones I Iove The ones that mean the world to me But that’s just me that’s just me

Any Less 03:12
Any Less Sometimes the words they don’t come easy For days on end I just can’t find a melody The chords I try to put together end up in a mess But that don’t mean I love you any less, that don’t mean I love you any less Every song I sing for you runs through me Life blood filling all my hopes and dreams Still there’s times I need reminding how much I’ve been blessed But that don’t mean I love you any less, that don’t mean I love you any less Nights alone the cold invades my bones Pull the covers close but they’re not you Contemplate the fates I’ve bought and sold Contemplate the grace I’ve fallen so deep into Heavy is the burden of this fallen world There’s healing on the lips of my girl Might be times I lose my mind and give her second best But that don’t mean I love her any less, that don’t mean I love you any less Nights alone the cold invades my bones Pull the covers close but they’re not you Contemplate the fates I’ve bought and sold Contemplate the grace I’ve fallen so deep into If I could do anything I would Save the wolves and treat her like I should But I’m so tired and uninspired I think I need a rest But that don’t mean I love you any less, that don’t mean I love you any less

Smoke Monster I think I’ll dig a hole and bark into it - everybody seems to think I’m kind of crazy anyways When the smoke clouds clear I might get down to it Find the monster lurking there and blow his ass away They say persistence pays in many ways Like all the nights and days I’ve prayed To let it be okay as we roll down life’s winding highway Wind at our tails, sun on our face Never met a trail that wasn’t worth the wandering New saw a sunrise that didn’t make me want to smile Never knew a tree that didn’t beg for climbing Never found a piece of shade that wouldn’t rest these weary bones a while They say persistence pays in many ways Like all the nights and days I’ve prayed To let it be okay as we roll down life’s winding highway Wind at our tails, sun on our face Think I’ll find an E-Z chair and curl up into it Been everything I want to be, seen everything I want to see They say every dog she’ll have her day – yeah, I already knew it Let the tireless efforts cease, maybe find a little peace They say persistence pays in many ways Like all the nights and days I’ve prayed To let it be okay as we roll down life’s winding highway Wind at our tails, sun on our face

Worth Believing In When the wells run dry and the sun won’t shine When the wild flowers say goodbye I’ll be yours and you’ll be mine For just a moment in time as life swiftly flies I will gaze into your eyes for I am yours and you are mine Stand by me as our love is rising Lie beside me share the joy, dry the tears I’m crying Forever and always abiding, realizing this is the real thing Something worth believing in Like a star to the sky, as the branch is to the vine Blessed be the tie that binds – I am yours and you are mine Stand by me as our love is rising Lie beside me share the joy, dry the tears I’m crying Forever and always abiding, realizing this is the real thing Something worth believing in When the wells run dry and the sun won’t shine When the wild flowers say goodbye I’ll be yours and you’ll be mine I’ll be yours and you’ll be mine, I am yours and you’ll be mine

Losing Game 04:49
Losing Game The grinders fall out and the windows close This body get tired and old before you know it It’s over-rated it’s a bunch of bullshit But we hold out hope for one more day before it’s time to go I see the mark of vanity in every thought and every scheme We never get too tired of chasing the wind We eat and drink and we toil away and keep dreaming of a better day It’s a losing game Finally found someone who let me rest She’s the hand in my glove her love’s a helluva blessing Winter’s gone so we’ll head west and then Seven nights of paradise and it’s back to work again I feel the hand of vanity in every thought and every scheme We never get too tired of chasing the wind We eat and drink and we toil away and keep dreaming of a better day It’s a losing game You say that life is pain and we live and die in vain Then you say each day is a gift – they all fly by so swiftly Your finest hour has come and gone Dreams have left you in the dust the world is moving on Feeling strange for the times they are a-changing In a couple generations they’ll just forget your name I see the mark of vanity in every thought and every scheme We never get too tired of chasing the wind We eat and drink and we toil away and keep dreaming of a better day It’s a losing game

Titanic 04:09
Feel like I’m a little like the captain on the Titanic Always navigating icebergs wishing I could finally rhyme the right words Water keeps rising and I’m still advising everybody not to panic Just enjoy the trip ‘cuz you and I are going down with this ship So let’s sail away - it’ll be okay Got to keep baling honey, waiting for the sky to get sunny We might be sinking but here’s what I’m thinking, Keep on holding onto me, baby We’re going down and I don’t mean maybe Lying in the sand on my island in the middle of my ocean Wishing you were here wishing you could bring me a nice cold beer Stranded all alone I am prone to get in touch with my emotions And that’s a dangerous thing, kind of like floating in your dinghy in the lightning So let’s sail away - it’ll be okay Got to keep baling honey, waiting for the sky to get sunny We might be sinking but here’s what I’m thinking, Keep on holding onto me, baby We’re going down and I don’t mean maybe Sun’s still rising in the morning, sinking every evening It’s a natural thing, birds start singing and the bees keep on stinging Life will kill your pride but faith can turn the tide need to keep on believing It’s the only way, tomorrow just might be a better day So let’s sail away - it’ll be okay Got to keep baling honey, waiting for the sky to get sunny We might be sinking but here’s what I’m thinking, Keep on holding onto me, baby We’re going down and I don’t mean maybe

Sparkly Eyes and Thunder Paw Sparkly Eyes and Thunder Paw, they made a mighty fine pair She was pretty as the starry sky you could say she was beyond compare He was rougher than the Appalachian Trail with a history twice as long He was cool he was hard he was tough as nails that SOB was just a little head strong He loved the sun she loved the snow but they both loved to be on the run He was rude she was refined with a bit of a bad attitude Under her wing he’d learn how to sing love and dance and get a second chance He’d keep her young but she held her own when the rompin and rollin got a bit out of hand They used to love to walk the streets at night see the sights of old G-town He’d meander she’d never wander get there together nose to the ground He’d take it fast she’d take it slow he never really knew which way to go She’d bring him back hit the sack stare at each other and take a little nap They loved to eat they loved to drink she always told him exactly what to think He’d take it in and let it go he was wise enough to never let it show Talk about love he could never get enough she’d rub his nose just don’t touch his toes He’d nuzzle her up she’d sniff him down a neurotic princess and a lovable clown She’d watch the lights he’d jump the couch she’d check the dishes he’d check her out He’d try to fly drown and electrify she’d lay in bed and just wonder why So raise a glass to the laddie and the lass who make this old house a home For the days that he lays at my feet while I play and the way she loves cleaning the chrome And let’s drink some more for all the times they’re at the door Wondering where the hell we’ve been once again For his happy dance show after every time that he goes and her lectures in Siberian He loves the sun she loves the snow but they both love to be on the run He’s still rude she’s refined with a bit of a bad attitude

Searching For The Light Seems like the hour is getting late never make it home at this rate Guess I’ll keep pushing on down the road Try finding shelter from the storm looking like it might be a good one Keep my head down and let the wind blow Safe from the hail and rain in the eye of the hurricane I keep searching for a peace that’s passing far beyond all understanding A restless heart denied the longing deep inside of me I sink deeper down the wishing well I swim harder but the ocean swells They keep on getting higher and I’m tired of the fight, searching for the light Been wandering round this place so long wondering if your love is a song A melody on the breeze every now and then I want to see the beautiful I want to see the fallen snow In a different light – start it over again A change in the season a light shining bright on the horizon I keep searching for a peace that’s passing far beyond all understanding A restless heart denied the longing deep inside of me I sink deeper down the wishing well I swim harder but the ocean swells They keep on getting higher and I’m tired of the fight, searching for the light Yet nothing below or above will separate me from this love I keep searching for a peace that’s passing far beyond all understanding A restless heart denied the longing deep inside of me I sink deeper down the wishing well I swim harder but the ocean swells They keep on getting higher and I’m tired of the fight, searching for the light

Good Night My Friend Good night my friend - I’ll surely miss you underneath my feet Everyone will wonder when I’m walking alone down the street I’ll look ahead to a better day when we might meet Once again – good night my friend Good night my friend – you’re running free with the moon and the stars above Your happy smile and your sapphire eyes watching over us You’re never far away our hearts can feel the love The love you send – good night my friend good night my friend It doesn’t matter if I shake my fist at the wind It doesn’t matter if I promise to be a better man The sun is down and the darkness rushes in But I still see you smiling Good night my friend – everywhere I look I see a little bit of you All the days we shared – they’ll always be one too few But the fences are down and you’re finding something new Around every bend – good night my friend good night my friend

I’m Going Home There really isn’t too much left of me here, think it might be time for me to disappear I know you don’t want to hear it – I’ll be with you in spirit I’ve outlived most of my favorite girls, hope to see them all again in a better world To the one I’ve left behind – tell her she’ll be on my mind Always on my mind But I’m going home – now I’m halfway gone These tired old bones – they been holding me down One thing I know it’s a damn good day to go And I just may be the lucky one again, ‘cuz I’m going home Might have made a big mistake or two, carried around a bit of regret – like you do But I’m leaving it all behind – it’s my time to fly, my time to shine I’m going home – now I’m halfway gone These tired old bones – they been holding me down One thing I know it’s a damn good day to go And I just may be the lucky one again, ‘cuz I’m going home
