Balto was this man's best friend and constant companion. He has left his permanent mark upon me. It's true, I really wanted to wring his neck several times. I guess those times sealed our bond. He would have done anything for me and me for him. His last days broke my heart. Setting him free was one of the most difficult things I have experienced in this life. But the boy never enjoyed being fenced in. Now and forever he will be running free taking a piece of my heart along for the ride. He will watch over us. Smiling. My good boy. Good night, my friend.
